Heart Surgery and Bringing on the pink

                                                                           The Blues
                                                                       The purples
                                                              Love the oranges and yellows

I was thinking about doing some kind of stencil like this but with a soft yellow- what do you all think?

The last few weeks have been interesting/exciting/stressfull.  Let me expand....Travis went TDY right after conference and so we were dealing with that..then..the day after Easter my dad had an angeogram that showed major blockages to his heart.  He had 6 blockages, and so the next day he was scheaduled for bypass surgery.  On that same day I found out we were expecting a girl (we are super excited).  I also found out that she has a small problem with the umbilical cord.  So I will be getting lots of ultrasounds and hopefully everything will be fine. I decided I am not going to research it on the internet, it will only make me worry and I don't need that!   Wednesday I drove out to Utah, thank goodness my little sister Marette was visiting me and was able to make the drive with me so we could be with my dad.  I spent 2 weeks at home with my dad and tried to help out the best I could but there isn't much one can do to make major heart surgery heal faster or make the pain go away.  It has been such a blessing to live closer to home so I can be there when emergencies like this one happen.  It has been really hard not having Travis home to help cope with this stress but hopefully in 2 short weeks he will be home with us again.  I am so grateful for modern medicine and new leases on life.  The surgeon said he had a large chance of dying within the year if he would have just kept going on not knowing.

So now that I know for sure it is a girl I can start planning for her!  So fun.  I started her quilt today and I can't wait until it is all done.  I have chosen Central Park by Kate Spain.  It is bright and cheery and it makes me smile.  I hope she will like it too.

Squadron Easter Party

It was a looong but fun day, and the kids were in kid heaven.  Before the Easter egg hunt even started Cooper had spotted 2 golden eggs.  He was able to get one, which to his happy surprise contained $5.  What a lucky boy he is!  Cooper especially loved being able to go in the C-130 and sit in the cockpit just like his daddy.  Liam liked the plane not the tarmac,  as you can see in the last picture he won't even put his feet on the ground and he is watching in the FAR distance a plane that is taxiing to the runway.  It was a fun and eventful day and I appreciate those who worked very hard to put it together for us to enjoy.

Reality is setting in...

It seemed so far away...but the time has come up fast.  Time for Travis to go to more training in Little Rock.  I am grateful for this training in someways, it has saved him from a deployment in May and that would have been 4 months and this is only 2 months.  So, I am happy for that because he will be here when the baby is born and he won't have to deploy until November.  The kids are going to miss him, I am going to miss him.  2 months is nothing right? Iin military time it really is nothing, so no complaining for me.  I am thankful that he has been here since October and hasn't had to go anywhere since then.   We just LOVE him so much we HATE it when he leaves us.  One more happy week, going to soak it up!

A garden

I really want to plant a garden.  We have REALLY dry and WINDY weather and very hard ground.  I am pretty sure building a planter and adding my own soil is the way to go, any other pointers?  I just can't wait to have my own cucumbers and pumpkins and tomatoes!  Mmmmm now I just need to build it, and plant it and tend it.  Minor details.

something new

We have had a lot of new things happen...I just haven't "felt" like posting.  If I would stop throwing up already I would be a lot more motivated I think.  But here is some of the things we have done.
-Cooper turned 5 in January
-Cooper started Basketball
-Travis and I went to Hawaii ALONE in February (thank you Grandma's and Grandpa's!)
-I went to Vegas on a girls trip

-and besides that we are just chugging along
