Camping @ Goliad State Historical Park

So, we needed to get out of Dodge last weekend. I tend to get super antsy after spending so much time in one place. So Travis obliged and took us camping about a hour north to Goliad. It is was really interesting. It started as a spanish mission settlement, and then after time the Mexican forces took over, and in the end the Texans used it as a front for the Mexican American war. I love history (look at below list) and it was really fun to see something new. It was a really pretty drive and Goliad was a cute little town. We had lots of fun camping as a family.

Cooper was intrigued by the fire, and he {loved} putting wood and leaves and whatever he could find into it. It made me nervous but he had so much fun. We roasted marshmellows, and he was so cute about it. He had to sit really close to the fire, everytime I would scoot him back he would just scoot himself closer. He choose a big stick off the ground and would not let me help him clean it or anything, so he had dirty marshmellows. He didn't care. It was nerve wracking watching him hold the stick with the marshmellow. It just would bounce all over the place, dipping towards the dirt, and then to the fire. It would almost light on fire and he would pull it up and hold it still for a few seconds anyway. He loved roasting marshmellows, he felt so big. He would say, "no help mommy". That is our new anthem, "no mommy, no help!"
They grow so fast.

ahh!!!!! Goldwell and KMS

I just have to quickly write how EXCITED I am that the local beauty supply store has seen the light. They have decided to carry my favorite brand of hair care color and products. I just need some hair to be colored and I am ready to go!

{Mandie}

Mandie and I met in Alaska. It was a sad day when they moved down to Little Rock. Thankfully Mandie's {sweet husband} (he has earned that title from me), sent her down to visit me, while he watched their three kids at home. All I have to say is WOW! That is pretty fantastic. Mandie and I had a great time doing nothing. It was fun watching movies, hanging out at the beach, going shopping, going out to lunch. It was pretty great. We did go running together once and had a hard time walking for a few days, but to our credit we also went for several walks too. She was a super guest, she did my dishes, helped make dinner, and even played with the poor Roxie dog. We had a great time. She is also a fantastic photographer, I did her hair and she took our pictures. I can't wait to see them. She left today and it is a little sad, but I know her kids are happy she is home.

Gluten Free +5/Gluten- Free Creations

I feel like I am waging a war on my body. I tuesday I decided I had enough, I am tired of the migraines, I am tired of feeling tired, I am tired of my stomach feeling well, you know. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I watched Opera and it was on smokers and finding the tools to quit. AHH HAA! {light bulb} I am like a smoker, but with gluten. I think that maybe the last 2 years I have just felt sorry for myself over my diagnosis, and instead of making the life change that I needed I just wallowed in my self pity of no more cookies, and bread and cake.

So, here I am gluten free for almost five days. Today is the first day I really craved something glutenous. So far so good, the only mishap was when I was taking the sacrament and I had forgotten about the bread. I took the sacrament and I am just praying that God will help me through that part.

Also, I have to just say that I love the outback. What a wonderful establishment they have. They are really one of the rare restaurants that carry a gluten free menu around here. I am so glad that they care enough to have one.

Olive Fingers

I can't remember the first time I ever did this, but I remember doing it a lot when I was little. It seemed like olive fingers were the best way to eat olives. I don't think there is another way as long as they can fit into those little holes. This was taken last Sunday, Cooper loved his olive fingers I am glad we were able to capture his first olive finger moment. Another moment I wish I had a picture of was of Cooper eating a stick of butter. This week as I am trying to get ready for preschool at our house Cooper got into the freezer opened up a box and unwrapped a stick of butter. He was happy chomping away when I found the grease monkey. He kept saying "mmmm mommy yummy, yummy." I had a hard time not laughing when he kept saying yummy. Also, Cooper had his 2 year old appointment this week. He is just shy of 36 inches tall (79th %) and he weighed 32 lbs (92nd%) and his head is 20 inches (92nd %). Cooper can ride the little kid rides at Six Flags this summer! Yeah!
